CD ALTERNATIVES

Learn to compare short and intermediate term fixed investment and insurance products.  After reviewing your clients risk/reward profiles for suitability purposes.  Some features compared:  safety; cash flow; liquidity; maturities; income and estate taxes; probate effect; guarantees; fees and commissions; effect on social security.

PERSONAL P&C PLANNING


An advanced course for you to help clients plan for and insure risks covered by various personal property and casualty coverages.

PERSONAL HEALTH INSURANCE PLANNING

Designed to help an agent counsel on personal health insurance plans, medical and non medical optional programs including Critical Illness, Long Term Care, Disability Income, Dental Plans, Medicare Supplements, Managed Care, and Travel Health.

Consumers rank ethics and trust more than twice as important as advice and product performance.  A few can damage ethical trust for the entire industry.  Better understand those areas requiring diligence in one’s own actions, as well as observing, training and monitoring other  professionals.

THE KENNEDY-KASSEBAUM BILL

Legislation to improve portability and continuity of health insurance coverage in group and individual markets; combat waste, fraud and abuse in health insurance and health care delivery; promote use of medical savings accounts; improve access to long term care services and coverage; and simplify the administration of health insurance.

WINDSTORM MARKET ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (WindMAP)


WindMAP is a mechanism created to assist homeowners living in New Jersey's coastal areas to obtain insurance.  An overview of the plans, process, history and an in-depth knowledge of how to properly assist consumers in obtaining coverage will be discussed.

MANAGED CARE

Managed Care is the coverage of choice for seven (7) out of ten (10) employers.  Traditional indemnity plans are becoming a thing of the past, making health insurance more of a challenge for agents and brokers.  Managed Care premiums are lower; and it takes more time to educate employers and employees.  Agents learn the language, values and ratings involved to help with their clients' needs.

CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE

This course describes why this product came into existence, the need for it, how it relates to government programs, the differences in various contracts, how to market group and individual products and what the future is for the product.

QUALIFIED RETIREMENT PLANS (QRP'S)


How a Plan is established, customized to fit a prospect employer's objectives, the basics of qualified plans, types of plans, contributions and benefits, vesting, distributions and plan adoption and administration.

PRINCIPLES OF RETIREMENT PLANNING


How to service the burgeoning market for retirement planning products and services;
the retirement planning process; methods to assess client's post retirement needs; up-to-date demographic information; review of products; sources of retirement income; choosing a plan for business owners; and distributions of Qualified Retirement Plans.



401 (K) PLANS


How 401 (K) Plans work, how to design them for differing needs, what is involved in plan installation and administration, and includes an effective sample marketing presentation.

SIMPLIFIED EMPLOYEE PENSIONS (SEPs)

Tax and non-tax advantages of SEPs; how to establish SEPs; contribution and deduction limits; participation requirements; and plan  administration and distributions.

ANNUITIES

Course discusses annuities, origins, the development of the product and distribution.  Delves into the marketing aspects of the annuity; explores the tax treatment of annuities; and how insurers invest for this flexible retirement product.

LONG TERM CARE


Covers the many issues facing those seeking a long term care solution.  Focuses on providing affordable, quality private insurance protection.  It reinforces that Medicare, Medicaid and Medicaid Estate Planning may not always be practical solutions.  Includes useful statistics and demographic information and marketing ideas.

ESTATE PLANNING


Principles of estate planning: from finding prospects, understanding taxation issues,
administration process, estate shrinkage, trusts, wills, property transfers and leverage strategies.

BUSINESS INSURANCE


Identifies the unique needs of business owners, including information on tax rules, buy-sell agreements, partnerships, sole proprietorships, close corporations, and key-person insurance.

NEW JERSEY SMALL GROUP HEALTH PLANS


For agents who service groups of 2 to 49 lives.  Agents will be able to understand and explain the State mandated plans to clients and be able to advise them.

PARTIALLY SELF FUNDED HEALTH PLANS


Analysis of the evolution of the partially self-insured market, factors impacting funding, market development, stop loss coverages, and options available.

CAFETERIA PLANS (SECTION 125)


be able to explain, advise, consult and implement cafeteria plans, and integrate with an employer fringe benefit package.  IRS
and fringe benefit options discussed.  Explains the difference between Premium Only Plans, Flexible Spending Accounts, Flexible Benefit Plans, and tax ramifications.  Examine tax regulations, highly compensated employees, and non-discrimination testing.
